The National Identity of Spain (DNI) is a document the size of a credit card issued by the Ministry of Interior through the National Police, which certifies the identity and personal data of the owner and the Spanish nationality of the same.
At the bottom of the back of ID is a series of characters OCR-B intended to be read mechanically according to standard ICAO documents.
These characters correspond to the data displayed on the front such as the support number, dates of birth and validity of the document, the name or the ID number itself.
Among these OCR characters appear four control numbers (indicated in red or green in the application).
One is the loneliest number of famous end of the second line.
This application calculates these numbers depending on the input data demonstrating that do not correspond to what certain urban legends.
The application works for both the DNI 2.0 distributed since 2006 to the new DNI 3.0 issued since 2015.
